Interesting information (homemade beauty tips) about Aetna Health Insurance

By Sam Dicosta

Aetna Health Insurance has actually been in business since 1850 according to Aetna.com. It did not initiate as a health care company per se, but as a life insurance company in Hartford, Connecticut. In 1857 the country experienced a recession and moves were made to liquidate Aetna Life Insurance, which was the precursor to Aetna Health Insurance Company. Thanks to the work of Eliphalet A. Bulkeley, who helped start the company, these efforts were defeated and the company went on to top the one million dollar mark in income in 1865 (Aetna.com). Around the turn of the century, Aetna Health Insurance evolved from its beginnings as it began to offer health insurance coverage. There are many reasons for the success of Aetna Health Insurance, and the following is an example of the services they offer.

Aetna Health Insurance advice on womens health

The Aetna Health Insurance Company has much at stake in maintaining a healthy clientele. In so doing, they offer a comprehensive list of suggestions for promoting health for many groups of people. For example, the information for womens health on the Aetna Health Insurance web site is divided into age groups and general information is given as to what to expect in each respective stage of life. Suggestions are given for each age group for medical tests they should have and any vaccines they should get, as recommended by a panel of physicians with Aetna Health Insurance and the American Medical Association.

The eighteen to twenty-nine age groups is seen as a preventative health period for women. General guidelines from Aetna Health Insurance include finding appropriate healthcare practitioners. Also suggested is the gathering of family medical information such as disease history and the like. Gynecological care is advised for general routine check ups of the reproductive system, as well as pregnancy care. The beginning of breast exams and awareness of breast cancer issues should begin in this decade, according to Aetna Health Insurance.

The ages of thirty to thirty-nine are a time to check any changes that have occurred such as weight gain. The business of career, children and family life can cause a loss of focus on health issues at this stage of life. Aetna health insurance reminds women to pay attention to their fitness and health in this decade. Some suggested tests to keep in mind are blood pressure, body mass index, cervical cancer, and even periodic tests for depression. Many of these preventive services are covered by most Aetna Health Insurance health plans.

The decade of the forties is referred by Aetna health insurance as a transitional time for womens bodies. As the woman matures, Aetna Health Insurance suggests paying attention to a healthy diet and a continued exercise regimen. At this time, a multivitamin with extra folic acid and iron is to be considered — and special care should be taken if pregnancy is being considered because of increased risks of birth defects. At age 40 and onward, a mammogram is highly recommended every one to two years. Also, as weight becomes more difficult to control, other health issues can become a problem. These include diabetes, high blood pressure, increased cholesterol, and heart disease.

From the ages of fifty to sixty-four, more changes in body (such as menopause) and family should invite the woman to take measures as needed. Caring for a parent and other concerns can sometimes lead to depression and that can lead to numerous health complications, according to Aetna Health Insurance. Sleep patterns can also change at this age, but Aetna Health Insurance says that problems with sleeping should not be considered normal and can possibly be due to another condition which should be assessed.

At all these critical stages in a womans life, Aetna Health Insurance offers guidance and help.

Add Some Class to Your Home with Pirate D

Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum, and Aye, me matey are probably the two most popular pirate sayings of all time. The image of a pirate, to most people, is a peg leg individual with a patch over one eye, a parrot perched on his shoulder and a sword in his belt. Pirates swigged rum and threatened anyone who would listen; their fate may be to walk the plank. Pirates sailed on ships flying the traditional pirate flag depicting a skull and crossed swords or bones. They boarded ships and stole gold, precious gems and rum. Pirates were a pesky bunch that romanticized crime on the open seas.

If you want to consider something different for your home, or just a room in your home, you may want to consider pirate decor. That decor is appropriate for a kids room as well as an entertainment room or even your outside patio or deck. You may choose to be all pirates all the time and redecorate your entire home in such decor. Pirate decor is sassy and fun but you may find a little of such a decor will go a long way.

The most obvious pirate decoration is a pirate flag. You should consider hanging a flag on the wall or from the ceiling rather than painting a flag on the wall or floor. If you decide you do not like the pirate motif, it is easier to remove a flag from the wall than the floor. The second most obvious pirate decoration is a wooden treasure chest, and if it has a chain and lock on it, that is a bonus.

An interesting wall decoration is a pirates ladder. I have seen them in wood and metal. If your kids have a tree house, a pirate ladder might be a good option to get to and from the hut. A pirate ladder will fit almost anywhere but remember: think safety when placing it. I doubt you want it attached to a bedroom window, unless it is a hint for your daughter to elope.

Another interesting wall decoration is a ships wheel. Finished in a shiny lacquer will add a little pizzazz to your pirate room. If you are not sure if a ships wheel will work as a decoration, put it up for a while and give it a whirl and see if you can make it spin.

How about a replica of a pirate ship in the front entry of your home to greet your guests? Perhaps a replica of a pirate ship in the backyard for the kids. You will be the envy of the neighborhood and the most popular play area around. Imagine the fun the kids will have yo ho ho-ing all over the place. Just be sure they do not make anyone walk the plank. You could be in some serious trouble if that happens.

A fun idea for a kids room or the entertainment room is a treasure map on the wall. They are available online or you can do it yourself. Step by step directions are available online.

Do not forget the kitchen with your pirate dcor. Image the surprise on your guests face when you carve the thanksgiving bird with an honest to goodness pirate sword. It might be the most important piece of cutlery you own.
