Health Insurance Only as good as your Agent (indian beauty tips)

By michaelwilliam75

For many years I have wondered if I had only had a good agent would things have turned out better. I am writing this article to help people avoid making the same mistakes as I have. Several years ago I went online searching for a health insurance policy. The internet was new and there were very few Texas based companies offering health insurance online. I was directed through a google search to a company out of NewYork, NY. Back at that time there was no way to actually purchase online so I completed their questionaire and a salesman called.

The salesman began to ask me about health conditions and things they would ask you in person. I told him my only problem was I take a blood pressure medicine. He took all my information and gave me a premium that was about 30% cheaper than any quote I had gotten in the past. I few days passed and I received the application by mail for my signature. I sent it in as I was instructed to do by the agent and was quickly given a policy. This is where the nightmare began.

About a year later I had a heart attack and was hospitalized. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas began to ask my doctors for medical records. When my doctors sent the records I got a letter from BCBSTX basically accusing me of insurance fraud. The $200,000.00 plus in medical bills were denied. I found out later how the agent had gotten me such a low rate compared to everyone else. He did not tell Blue Cross about the blood pressure medicine I was taken; I had helped him by signing the application without reading it closely. Be very careful when choosing an agent.

I have found a very good and honest local agent here in Texas and would not trade him for the world. Here is my suggestion. You can buy your insurance online. Follow this simple rule. If your insurance agent is too busy or far away to meet with you in person to take the application; do not buy from him. Find one closer and not so busy.
